How will companies "monetize" this - today some of the things we took for granted (like the phone ringing till we answered it) now have to be paid for (Virgin charge you to have more than 8 rings)...

Where and how will people work when they can access everything from a simple device? As the Economist this week said, the car was seen as a faster horse, but brought highways, cities and suburbs, drive throughs, etc. what will "faster more powerful communications" change?
